Vogel Design receives national recognition for excellence

Vogel Design, a Hillsboro-based digital and print design studio operated by David Vogel, received four 2016 American Graphic Design Award certificates last month, recognizing outstanding new work and design excellence.

The national competition is sponsored by Graphic Design USA magazine.

For more than five decades, GDUSA has sponsored a range of national design competitions, and its American Graphic Design Awards is the original and the flagship, open to the entire creative community: design firms, ad agencies, corporations, non-profits, institutions and more. It honors outstanding new work of all kinds and across all media.

“I’m excited and honored to have my work recognized by the national design community,” Vogel said. “I love what I do, and receiving these four certificates is an appreciated affirmation that I’m doing it well.”

Vogel is a 2008 graduate of Hillsboro High School, a 2012 graduate of Tabor College and is currently serving as the 2016 Hillsboro Chamber of Commerce president. He started Vogel Design as his full-time occupation in the spring of 2014. Vogel Design specializes in web design and mobile app development for small businesses, and also offers a wide range of design and print services.

Nearly 10,000 entries were submitted in the 2016 contest, and a highly selective 15 percent were chosen to be recognized, GDUSA said, also noting that one organization receiving multiple awards is rare.

The four certificates received by Vogel Design recognized the following entries: website design for Parkside Homes (Hillsboro, Kan.), website design for Cottonwood Law Group, LC (Hillsboro, Kan.), and for two cover design projects for Wings of Hope Publishing Group (Hutchinson, Kan.), one certificate each for “Unlikely Pursuits” and the “Brides of a Feather” trilogy.
